Environmental Radioactivity Monitoring (ERM) plays a crucial role in safeguarding public health, protecting the environment, and ensuring compliance with international standards in the nuclear field. With the expansion of nuclear applications and the growing need for facility decommissioning, accurate and reliable ERM has become increasingly important.
Indonesia, through the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), in collaboration with the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA), is committed to strengthening human resource capacity in this area. This follow-up training course is designed to provide participants with advanced knowledge and practical skills in environmental radiation monitoring. The program covers principles, regulations, sampling and analysis techniques, statistical methods, risk assessment, as well as international experiences in decommissioning nuclear facilities.
By engaging experts from BRIN and JAEA, the training aims to enhance participants’ technical competence, broaden their analytical capabilities, and foster international collaboration. Ultimately, it will contribute to the safe, sustainable, and responsible management of nuclear activities in Indonesia and the region.
